The heatwave in Uttar Pradesh continues to intensify, with temperatures expected to rise further in the coming days. Fatehpur recorded the highest maximum temperature at 40.2°C, followed by 39.6°C in Prayagraj, 39°C in Varanasi (BHU), 38.4°C in Kanpur Rural, 38°C in Ballia, 38.2°C in Sultanpur and Hamirpur, 38.5°C in Ghazipur, 36°C in Ayodhya, and 33.9°C in Bareilly.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), light rain is expected in 20 districts of Uttar Pradesh on April 3. This weather change will last only for 24 hours, affecting districts in southern parts of eastern and western UP. However, after this brief relief, extreme heat conditions are likely to resume across the state.
Atul Kumar Singh, Senior Scientist at the Lucknow Meteorological Center, stated that no weather alert has been issued for April 2, and the weather will remain clear in both western and eastern UP. However, light rain is possible on April 3 in the following districts:

According to Senior Meteorologist Atul Kumar Singh, a new Western Disturbance will impact the Himalayan region on April 3, causing cloud formation over several districts of UP.
While Uttar Pradesh is experiencing rising temperatures, light rain on April 3 may provide temporary relief. However, this impact will last only for 24 hours, as temperatures are expected to rise again from April 4 onward. Over the next 6-7 days, maximum temperatures could increase by 3-5°C, making it crucial for residents to prepare for extreme heat conditions.
