Amid the scorching heat of April, the weather has once again taken a turn in many parts of the country. States like Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh are expected to witness rain, strong winds, and hailstorms in the coming days. The Meteorological Department has issued yellow and orange alerts for several districts in these states.

Rain and Hailstorm Alert in 42 Districts of Madhya Pradesh:

Madhya Pradesh will see weather changes over the next three days. Districts including the capital Bhopal, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Ujjain, Narmadapuram, Rewa, and Chambal divisions are likely to experience rain, strong winds, and hailstorms.

According to the Meteorological Department, a drop of 2 to 3 degrees Celsius in temperature is expected during this period, leading to a slight chill at night.

  • April 12: Light rain and storms expected in 42 districts including Bhopal, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Ujjain, Ratlam, Mandsaur, Neemuch, Morena, Shivpuri, and Guna.
  • April 13: Thunderstorms and rain likely in districts like Jabalpur, Vidisha, Narsinghpur, Mandla, Shahdol, and Sidhi.
  • April 14: Weather will clear up, and temperatures are expected to rise again.

Rainfall Warning in 55 Districts of Uttar Pradesh:

The weather in Uttar Pradesh has also changed. Thunderstorms and rain are expected in 55 districts including Lucknow, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Meerut, and Bareilly. Winds may blow at a speed of 30-40 km per hour.

According to meteorologists, the rainfall is due to western disturbances and low-pressure areas. However, it may not provide significant relief from the heat.

Worrying for Farmers:
If hail falls, it could damage 10-15% of fully ripened wheat crops.

Rain-Wind and Temperature Drop in Rajasthan:

Rajasthan is also witnessing rain and windstorms starting Thursday. Light rain and dusty winds are expected in 20 districts including Jhunjhunu, Alwar, Sikar, Jaipur, and Bharatpur.

  • April 12: Rain likely in South and East Rajasthan including Ajmer, Bundi, Tonk, Kota, Jhalawar, and Chittorgarh.
  • April 13: Weather expected to remain normal.
  • April 14: Temperatures will rise again with the onset of a heatwave. Yellow alert issued for Ganganagar, Bikaner, Jaisalmer, and Barmer.

Government and Administration Preparations:

State agriculture departments have been instructed to assess crop damage in affected districts promptly and to expedite relief efforts. Especially in UP and Bihar, where hailstorms have caused loss of life and property, the government has announced compensation for affected families.

This unusual change in weather is providing some relief from the heat, but it is proving to be a serious concern for farmers. In such conditions, everyone must pay attention to the weather alerts and take necessary precautions.
