In a special initiative to commemorate India’s 75th Republic Day, the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare has invited over 1,500 farmers from across the country to witness the Republic Day parade at Kartavya Path in New Delhi. These farmers are beneficiaries of various central government schemes, such as the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana and the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana. This event not only provides farmers the opportunity to watch the Republic Day parade but also offers them information about government schemes and training in advanced agricultural techniques. Let’s take a closer look at this program and how it could transform the lives of farmers.

Special Invitation for Farmers on Republic Day:

This year’s Republic Day celebration is set to be unique, as it marks the first time over 1,500 farmers will have the opportunity to attend the parade. These selected farmers, beneficiaries of various schemes, will be part of this historic event, allowing them to enjoy the festivities.

Training and Field Visits:

Before Republic Day, a special training session will be held for these farmers on January 25, 2024, at the Pusa Campus. During this session, they will receive information about key government schemes in the agricultural sector, including AIF, M&T, the National Seed Corporation, and the 'Per Drop More Crop' initiative. Following the training, farmers will tour the Pusa Campus to become acquainted with modern agricultural techniques.

Special Program with the Minister of Agriculture and Tribal Affairs:

After the Republic Day parade, a special program will be organized for these farmers at Subramanyam Hall, located within the Pusa Campus. The Union Minister of Agriculture and Tribal Affairs, Shri Arjun Munda, will be present at this event. Minister Munda will express gratitude for the contributions of farmers and highlight various schemes implemented by the government for their support and development.

Honoring the Agricultural Community: The purpose of this event is to express respect from the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare towards farmers. It aims to recognize the efforts of farmers while ensuring that the government remains committed to the development of the agricultural sector.

This initiative not only celebrates the contributions of farmers but also empowers them with knowledge and resources to enhance their agricultural practices, paving the way for a more prosperous future.
